Art Teacher – Romsey, Hampshire

GSL Education are currently recruiting a part-time Art Teacher (3 days per week) for a vibrant secondary school in Romsey. This exciting role begins in September 2025 and is perfect for a passionate educator who thrives on encouraging creative expression and nurturing artistic talent in young learners.
The school offers a welcoming tour prior to the interview, giving you the opportunity to experience the environment and ethos first-hand. Interviews are scheduled over the next couple of weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver inspiring and engaging art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Plan and prepare lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and skill development.
- Encourage and guide students in using various artistic mediums and techniques.
- Assess students’ work, providing constructive feedback and tracking progress.
- Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment where all students feel supported.
- Contribute to school displays, exhibitions, and enrichment activities.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism or strong background in art.
- Proven experience teaching art at the secondary level.
- Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills.
- A collaborative approach to planning and working with colleagues.
- Commitment to promoting creativity and developing students' confidence in their artistic abilities.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
