Head of ICT and Computer Science Teacher – Southampton, Hampshire

If so, GSL Education are currently hiring for a full-time Head of ICT and Computer Science Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a current Head of Department or an ambitious ICT/Computer Science Teacher ready to take the next step in their career. Responsibilities:
- Lead the ICT and Computer Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
- Design and implement an engaging and forward-looking curriculum that inspires students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
- Support and mentor departmental staff, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to drive improvements and inform planning.
- Contribute to whole-school leadership and development through strategic planning and innovation.
- Promote digital literacy and computational thinking across the wider school community.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant subject (ICT/Computer Science).
- Proven track record of delivering outstanding results in ICT and computer science at the secondary level.
- Previous leadership experience or demonstrable potential to step into a Head of Department role.
- Strong understanding of the computing curriculum and emerging trends in digital education.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and team leadership skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
