We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work at supportive schools in Andover starting in September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning activities and interventions. You will support students with a variety of special educational needs in both one-to-one and small group settings. You will assist the class teacher in delivering adapted and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs. Additionally, you will help manage behaviour and promote positive emotional wellbeing, creating a safe and supportive environment for all pupils.

  • Location: Andover
  • Start Date: ASAP or September 2025
  • Salary: £82.80 to £100 per day

Qualifications & Skills required for SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • No formal qualifications required—we welcome applicants with a passion for education and working with children.
  • Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies
  • Experience in a similar role or working with children is a plus, but not mandatory. Compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
