Year 6 Class Teacher - Bournemouth, Dorset

GSL Education are on the lookout for a full-time Year 6 Class Teacher for a well-established and supportive mainstream primary school in Bournemouth. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a Key Stage 2 class during a crucial academic year. The role starts this September 2025 and is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced professionals. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a school tour ahead of a formal interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a strong, engaging curriculum to prepare pupils for their transition to secondary school.
- Provide academic support across SATs preparation, ensuring each child meets their full potential.
- Foster a respectful, positive classroom environment that promotes behaviour for learning.
- Track and assess pupil progress, adjusting lesson planning to meet individual needs.
- Build strong, communicative relationships with parents, carers, and school staff.
- Contribute to the wider school community through leadership, collaboration, and enrichment activities.
Job Requirements:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6, is highly desirable.
- A solid understanding of the KS2 curriculum, including SATs expectations.
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
- A passion for developing children both academically and personally.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via GSL).
