Year 1 Class Teacher - Bournemouth, Dorset

GSL Education seeks a full-time Year 1 Class Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Bournemouth. This exciting opportunity is perfect for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) or experienced educators looking to bring creativity, structure, and care to a Key Stage 1 setting. The role begins in September 2025, with interviews scheduled over the next few weeks. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a school tour before the formal interview process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons aligned with the Year 1 curriculum.
- Create a nurturing, stimulating classroom where young learners feel safe and supported.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the developmental needs of all pupils.
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor and support pupil progress.
- Foster positive relationships with parents and carers through effective communication.
- Contribute to the school community through collaboration and involvement in events or enrichment activities.
Job Requirements:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience in KS1, ideally Year 1, either through teaching roles or training placements.
- Strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy development.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping children thrive.
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via GSL).
