SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Hilsea

Pay: £13.80 – £15 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, ADHD, and moderate to severe learning difficulties. Your New Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them to access the curriculum and develop essential life skills. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

What You'll Need to Succeed as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in a school or care setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) is desirable but not essential
  •  An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through GSL education
