Attendance Officer
Location: Haringey
Salary: £100 - £130 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long term until the end of summer term

GSL Education London Branch is currently looking for a dedicated Attendance Officer to join a vibrant and inclusive girls' secondary school in Haringey. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Attendance Officer to make a real difference in the lives of young people by supporting their attendance and academic progress.

As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance, working closely with students, parents, and staff to identify issues and implement solutions. This long-term position is ideal for someone who is proactive, organised, and passionate about supporting student welfare.

Responsibilities of an Attendance Officer:

  • Monitor daily attendance and punctuality using SIMS (School Information Management System)

  • Make daily calls and follow-ups with parents/carers regarding student absences

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports as required

  • Work with pastoral teams and senior leaders to improve overall school attendance

  • Carry out home visits when necessary to support families and students

Requirements for the Attendance Officer role:

  • Previous experience working as an Attendance Officer in a school setting

  • Strong working knowledge of SIMS is essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies

  • Available for an immediate start and able to commit until the end of the summer term
