Location: Rotherham
Salary: £150 – £200 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

About the Role:

As an ECT Primary Teacher, you will take on the full responsibilities of a classroom teacher, supported by experienced colleagues and mentors. You'll be responsible for planning and delivering creative and engaging lessons, managing behaviour positively, and ensuring each child is making progress in a happy and inclusive environment.

Your Responsibilities as an Early Career Teacher – Primary:

  • Deliver lessons across the primary curriculum (EYFS, KS1, or KS2 depending on placement)
  • Plan, assess, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Establish a supportive and structured classroom environment
  • Promote positive behaviour and uphold school values
  • Develop professional relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Track pupil progress and provide regular feedback
  • Contribute to staff meetings, planning, and school life
  • Reflect on practice and take part in CPD opportunities to grow your teaching skills

Primary Early Career Teacher (ECT) Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) achieved or pending
  • Sound understanding of the national primary curriculum
  • A proactive, flexible, and nurturing approach to teaching
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Eagerness to develop professionally with guidance and mentorship
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
