Key Stage 1 Teacher
Location: Rotherham
Salary: £150 – £230 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher to work in primary schools across Rotherham. Whether you're newly qualified or an experienced educator, this role offers flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of pupils.

As a Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering the national curriculum to Year 1 or Year 2 pupils in a way that encourages curiosity, resilience, and academic development. You will maintain high expectations for behaviour, foster positive relationships, and tailor learning to meet the needs of diverse learners.

KS1 Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum
  • Support pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and early foundation subject development
  • Use a range of strategies to assess and monitor pupil progress
  • Establish a classroom culture that promotes respect, inclusion, and enthusiasm for learning
  • Manage behaviour effectively, ensuring all pupils are focused and supported
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure pupil success
  • Adapt teaching to suit individual learning needs and styles
  • Maintain records and contribute to reports and meetings
  • Participate in school events, training, and enrichment activities

Requirements for Key Stage 1 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 1 pupils in UK primary schools
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds)
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A nurturing, proactive, and reflective teaching approach
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
