Sports Coach
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £93 - £110 per day
GSL Education are currently looking to appoint an exceptional Sports Coach to work at an Alternative Provision in York, North Yorkshire starting in September 2025.

Sports Coach Responsibilities:
- Enhancing the skills and abilities of individual athletes or the team as a whole.
- Designing training programs, organising practice sessions, and providing instruction and feedback to help athletes improve their technical skills, tactical awareness, physical conditioning, and mental focus.
- Individualised instruction and feedback are essential to help students reach their full potential.
- Ensure that proper safety guidelines and equipment are in place during practices and matches.
- Provide positive reinforcement, constructive feedback, and constant encouragement to help athletes develop confidence and resilience.
- Regularly update students and parents about practice schedules, match results, and any other relevant information.
Sports Coach Requirements:
- Holding a Sport and Exercise Science or Physical Education Degree at 2:1 classification or higher.
- A strong understanding of the rules, strategies, and techniques of the specific sport being coached is essential.
- Knowledge of basic sports injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation techniques is crucial.
- Strong leadership abilities to inspire, motivate, and guide student athletes.
- The ability to provide constructive feedback and encouragement to athletes while maintaining a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
