Science Teacher
Location: Hull
Salary: M1 – UPS3 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025 or January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a reputable and supportive secondary school in Hull. Whether you're an experienced practitioner or an ECT, this is a brilliant opportunity to contribute to a high-performing science department where innovation and student progress are key priorities.

As a Teacher of Science, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your specialism and experience. You will be responsible for supporting student progress through practical investigations, theoretical knowledge, and real-world scientific applications.

Teacher of Science Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics to students across the secondary age range
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to cater for varying abilities
  • Support students’ academic growth and passion for the sciences
  • Develop and assess schemes of work and contribute to curriculum development
  • Create a safe and engaging classroom environment where all learners feel encouraged
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in department meetings, school events, and professional development

Skills & Requirements for a Science Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in a science-related subject such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology or simiar
  • Experience teaching Science at the secondary level
  • Ability to teach across Key Stages, including GCSE and (ideally) A-Level
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one
