Humanities Teacher
Location: Hull
Salary: M1 – UPS3 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025 or January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

About the Role:

As a Teacher of Humanities, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 based on your specialism and experience. You will inspire students with your enthusiasm for the humanities and support them in developing their analytical, evaluative, and literacy skills.

Your Responsibilities as a Teacher of Humanities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, or Religious Studies
  • Plan and adapt lessons to cater to a range of abilities and learning styles
  • Encourage curiosity, debate, and independent thought in the classroom
  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly, offering feedback and intervention where needed
  • Contribute to curriculum development and resource sharing within the department
  • Promote cross-curricular links and real-world relevance in Humanities teaching
  • Support extra-curricular initiatives, such as school trips or themed events
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment

Humanities Teacher Requirements:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience as a Humanities Teacher is necessary
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Humanities or a related field is needed
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach across Key Stages
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one
