Salary: M1 – UPS3 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025 or January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

About the Role:
As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and purposeful lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will join a collaborative English department and play a key role in supporting pupils to achieve strong literacy skills and an appreciation of literature.
Key Responsibilities of an English Teacher:
- Teach English Language and Literature across KS3, KS4 and KS5
- Plan and deliver well-structured, differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to support improvement
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking
- Contribute to the development of English resources and curriculum planning
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Participate in departmental and whole-school CPD sessions and meetings
- Support students' wider learning experiences through extracurricular activities or enrichment opportunities
Teacher of English Candidate Requirements:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject
- Proven experience teaching English in secondary schools
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students of all abilities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one
