GSL Education are currently recruiting for an exceptional English Teacher to join a supportive school in Hull, starting September 2025. This is suitable for teachers on the M1 to UPS3 pay scale and welcomes both experienced educators and ECTs with a strong subject background.
Role Overview:
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons across different Key Stages, fostering a love for literature and language. You will join a department that values collaboration, creativity, and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, creativity, and academic curiosity.
- Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and school events.
- Uphold high standards of behaviour and academic achievement.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in English or a closely related field, with strong subject knowledge.
- Experience teaching English across all Key Stages
- is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver inclusive, differentiated lessons that engage and support all learners.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child protection procedures.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to use data to inform teaching and provide targeted support where needed
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
