Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs (SEN) School

Location: Basingstoke

Salary: Contract: £82.10 to £104.16 per day
Start Date: ASAP/ September 2025

What we are looking for:

Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable. Demonstrates strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and a patient, nurturing approach to supporting children. Proven ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with parents and professionals. Adaptable and flexible in fast-paced, changing environments, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:

  • Maintain the classroom and equipment in a safe and tidy condition.
  • Contribute to record-keeping by recording observations of pupils during the school day.
  • Demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours consistent with the role and in line with the expectations.
  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
  • Provide teaching and learning support, including the use of appropriate technical resources.
  • Supporting and teaching students with SEN and additional needs.
  • Work with other SEN Teaching Assistants in groups with students.

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should: 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
