EYFS Teaching Assistant – Nursery & Reception
Location: Hailsham
Salary: £90–£110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a committed and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to work within Nursery and Reception classes at a welcoming school in Hailsham. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a love for early years education and a desire to help lay the foundation for lifelong learning.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant (EYFS TA), you will work alongside class teachers to support children aged 3–5, helping them to develop key skills in a safe and stimulating environment. You will assist with both structured learning and play-based activities that contribute to their social, emotional, and academic development.
Responsibilities of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) TA:
- Support children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
- Assist in the planning and delivery of creative and interactive lessons
- Help maintain a positive, nurturing, and safe classroom environment
- Encourage language development, early literacy, and numeracy skills
- Support children with routines such as snack time, toileting, and transitions
- Monitor pupil progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents
- Contribute to the preparation of resources and classroom displays
EYFS Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience working with children in Nursery and/or Reception settings as an EYFS TA
- Knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ in Childcare, or relevant early years qualification is desirable
- A warm, caring, and patient approach to supporting young learners
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
