Key Stage 1 Teacher
Location: Rotherham
Salary: £150 - £230 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teacher to join friendly and welcoming primary schools across Rotherham from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach pupils in Year 1 or Year 2 and shape their academic and social development in a meaningful way.

About the Role:

As a KS1 Teacher, you will take responsibility for delivering the Key Stage 1 curriculum with a focus on developing phonics, reading, writing, and early numeracy skills. Creating a positive and structured classroom atmosphere will be key to helping your pupils build confidence and achieve success.

Key Stage 1 Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that follow the KS1 national curriculum
  • Support children’s early development in literacy, numeracy, and communication
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe and valued
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
  • Implement and monitor strategies for behaviour management and pupil engagement
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and other educators to support pupil learning
  • Contribute to school events, planning sessions and wider curriculum enrichment

 Requirements for KS1 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification is essential
  • Recent UK experience teaching within a KS1 setting
  • Strong understanding of phonics, early years pedagogy, and child development
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
