Salary: £83.33 – £89 per day

If you’re ready to transfer your clinical skills into an educational setting, this SEN Teaching Assistant role allows you to work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who need compassionate care, patience, and structured support throughout their learning journey.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, using your healthcare experience to build trust and stability in the classroom.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and physical or medical conditions.
  • Providing emotional regulation support and helping to implement strategies recommended by therapists and SEN professionals.
  • Assisting with personal care and health-related needs as required in a safe and respectful manner.
  • Using your calm, caring nature to de-escalate situations and promote well-being.
  • Collaborating with teachers and specialists to provide holistic support for each child.

To be considered for the SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will:

  • Have a background in nursing, healthcare, or another clinical support role.
  • Be confident supporting children with a range of complex needs in a school setting.
  • Bring patience, empathy, and a naturally supportive approach to every interaction.
  • Be adaptable, proactive, and able to work effectively within a team.
  • Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one with our support).
  • Have relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN TA training).
