GSL Education is currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming primary school in Maldon from September 2025. This full-time, long-term role involves providing tailored support to a child with additional learning or emotional needs, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact in a child’s school journey.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 support for a child with SEN (such as autism, speech & language needs, or SEMH)

Assisting with learning activities in class and through personalised interventions

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies

Encouraging emotional regulation, communication, and independence

Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
✅ Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children with SEN (in education, care, or related fields)

A nurturing, adaptable, and calm approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

A genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of young learners
