Working Hours: Full time
Start Date: Immediately / September 2025
Location: Braintree
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviour, helping them to manage their emotions, develop positive coping strategies, and re-engage with learning. You will support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent behaviour support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement
- Implement behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies
- Assist in creating a calm, safe classroom environment
- Liaise with teachers and support staff to promote student progress and wellbeing
- Encourage resilience, self-regulation, and respectful communication
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (preferred)
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to remain positive and supportive in challenging situations
- A genuine desire to help young people succeed
