Reception 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Speech and Language Support – Poole, Dorset

Are you experienced in early years or nursery settings and passionate about supporting children’s communication development?

GSL Education are currently seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant (TA) to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in Reception with speech and language needs at a welcoming primary school in Poole. This rewarding full time opportunity begins in September 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception pupil with speech and language difficulties.
  • Implement strategies and activities tailored to enhance communication and language development.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and external speech and language specialists.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters trust and learning.
  • Track and report on the child’s progress to support ongoing development.
  • Support classroom routines, transitions, and early years learning goals.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a nursery or EYFS setting is essential.
  • Understanding of early childhood development, particularly in communication and language.
  • Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about helping children reach their potential.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to attending a school tour as part of the selection process.
  • Availability for interviews in the coming weeks.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
