Job Title: Support Worker (PMLD) - Teaching Assistant
Location: Wandsworth, Southwest London
Salary: £90 to £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time | Long-term
Start Date: Immediate
GSL Education is currently recruiting for a Support Worker (PMLD) - Teaching Assistant to join a leading special needs school in Wandsworth. This is a unique opportunity to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in a warm, inclusive, and well-equipped setting.
About the School:
Located in a quaint part of Southwest London, the school caters to pupils with visual and sensory impairments and offers a supportive, state-of-the-art learning environment. The school features both modern classroom facilities and a dedicated residential area, creating an integrated experience for learners.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with PMLD and sensory impairments.
- Support the implementation of individual learning programmes and care plans.
- Use assistive technologies and sensory resources to engage learners.
- Work closely with therapists, teachers, and other support staff to meet the holistic needs of each student.
- Assist with personal care tasks where required, including feeding and hygiene.
- Foster a calm, safe, and nurturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Availability for immediate daily cover/full time work 8:30am-16:00 pm Monday to Friday
- have experience working with children and/or adults with learning difficulties including Physical Disabilities, ASC, PMLD
- Youth/Community work experience
- SEN experience
- Residential support/care worker
- Teaching/Learning support Assistance
