Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant

Salary: Upto £110 per day

GSL Education are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an energetic Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a primary school in Barnsley. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to be part of their learning journey from the beginning.

You will be working alongside teachers to support classroom learning, help with daily routines, and ensure every child feels encouraged, safe, and ready to learn. Your presence will play an important role in creating a positive classroom where all students can succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers during lessons and help students with classwork.
  • Work with small groups or individual students who need extra attention.
  • Prepare learning materials and organise the classroom.
  • Encourage good behaviour and help students follow classroom rules.
  • Listen to students and support their emotional and social development.
  • Take part in school activities and work as part of a caring team.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Primary Teaching Assistant is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required, or you must be willing to apply for one through us.
  • A good understanding of how to support the safety and well-being of children.
