Exciting Opportunity: Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Poole

Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a meaningful impact?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming primary school in Poole. This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with SEN, particularly those on the Autistic Spectrum. The position starts in September 2025, offering a daily rate of £90.

About the Role

Step into a rewarding position where your support can make a lasting difference in a child’s life. As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you’ll work closely with a pupil on the Autistic Spectrum, helping them navigate their learning journey with confidence and care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Individual Support: Provide one-on-one assistance tailored to the pupil’s specific needs.
  • SEN Expertise: Use your understanding of autism and SEN strategies to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement effective support plans.
  • Positive Reinforcement: Encourage progress through patience, consistency, and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Inclusive Learning: Help foster a classroom culture that values diversity and inclusion.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children with SEN, especially autism (in or outside of a school setting).
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative school environment.
  • Willingness to engage in a school tour prior to formal interview.
