Job description
GSL Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant and supportive primary school in Chelmsford. This is a full-time, long-term position, starting in September, and is ideal for an experienced HLTA who is passionate about helping pupils thrive both academically and personally.
As a key member of the school team, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers, leading interventions, and occasionally delivering lessons in the teacher’s absence.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver planned lessons and group activities under teacher guidance

Lead small group or one-to-one interventions to support learning

Assist with the planning, preparation, and assessment of pupils’ work

Support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND
-
Provide cover for classes where required, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment

Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff to meet the needs of all pupils
Requirements:

HLTA qualification or equivalent experience

Previous experience working in a UK primary school setting

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning

A passion for education and making a positive impact in the classroom

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
