Full-Time Humanities Teacher – Secondary School – Basingstoke, Hampshire
Are you a passionate Humanities Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic school setting?
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Humanities Teacher to join a supportive secondary school located in Basingstoke, Hampshire, starting September 2025. The school welcomes Early Careers Teachers as well as experienced practitioners and offers a school tour prior to the formal interview stage. Interviews will be held over the next couple of weeks. This is an excellent opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5 and to be part of a school that values academic success and holistic development.
Teacher of Humanities Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons that support the national curriculum.
- Teach a range of subjects within the Humanities such as History, Geography, or Religious Studies.
- Create a positive learning environment where students feel supported and challenged.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing effective feedback.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and share best practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and whole-school events.
- Contribute to the wider school community and uphold school values.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Humanities or a related subject.
- Experience as a Teacher of Humanities is necessary.
- Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to high academic standards and student achievement.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students of all abilities.
- Hold an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered in the update service or willingness to apply for one.
