Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Andover
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are seeking a compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) TA to join a supportive school in Andover. This role offers flexible working options, whether you prefer short-term supply or longer-term placements, full-time or part-time hours. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalised support aligned with students’ Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Assist students with additional learning needs through one-to-one and small group interventions.
- Adapt learning materials and classroom activities to suit different abilities and learning styles.
- Encourage positive behaviour using de-escalation techniques.
- Monitor and record student progress, sharing observations with the SENCO and teaching team.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
SEN TA Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in educational settings is preferred.
- Good understanding of key SEN areas and the challenges students may face.
- Ability to follow detailed plans and implement behaviour management strategies effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
- An updated CV covering the last 10 years without unexplained gaps.
