Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Eastleigh
Salary: £13.68-£14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic Special Education Needs TA to join a vibrant school in Eastleigh.

As an SEN TA, you will provide support to the students with Special Educational Needs. You will help students with their learning, social skills, communication, and behaviour. This includes helping them with classwork, explaining tasks in an easier way, and giving encouragement throughout the day.

Responsibilities of SEN TA:

  • Assist students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom.
  • Help students understand class instructions and encourage their active participation in learning.
  • Monitor student’s progress and share feedback with teachers and SEN support staff.
  • Promote student’s independence while offering support when needed.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help with emotional regulation.
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with students and the wider school team, including the SENCO.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Special Education Needs TA is preferred.
  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related subject is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good understanding of how to support children and young people with different SEN needs.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
