Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Southampton
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are looking for a passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) TA to work in a welcoming school in Southampton. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a positive difference in their education and well-being.
As an SEN TA, you will support students with a range of needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist children with their learning and participation in class activities and school routines.
- Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Work one-to-one or with small groups of students requiring additional support.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans under the guidance of the teacher and SEN team.
- Promote independence and positive behaviour in the classroom.
SEN TA Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs in schools or other settings is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion principles.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
