Early Years Practitioner - Nursery
Location: Southampton | Age Group: Early Years | Hours: Full-Time
GSL Education are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Years Practitioner (EYP) to join a friendly and nurturing setting in Southampton. This full-time role is perfect for someone who holds a Level 3 childcare qualification and is dedicated to supporting young children’s development in a safe and stimulating environment.

The early years setting is committed to providing a high-quality, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to explore, learn, and grow. With a focus on play-based learning, the team works closely with families to support the individual needs of each child.
Role Overview:
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will work directly with children, supporting their learning and development across all areas of the early years curriculum.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote development and curiosity.
- Supporting children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth through nurturing interactions.
- Creating a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment.
- Observing, assessing, and recording children’s progress to inform future planning.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and parents to provide consistent care and support.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in childcare or early years education (essential).
- Have experience working with children in an early years or nursery setting.
- Be patient, caring, and enthusiastic about early childhood development.
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Be proactive and flexible in a dynamic early years environment.
