About the Role:

As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning and development. Whether working one-to-one or with small groups, your role will be vital in helping children achieve their full potential in a safe and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities of Primary School Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Support pupils with classroom activities and learning tasks.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Deliver targeted support to pupils with varying educational needs.
  • Help prepare teaching materials and classroom resources.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to teaching staff.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

Requirements of Primary School Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Experience working in a primary school setting is essential.
  • A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare.
  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and a nurturing approach.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
