SEMH Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start
Location: Waterlooville
Hourly Rate: £13.68 – £14.88
Start Date: As soon as possible/ September 2025
Job Type: Full-time, Long-Term

GSL Education is currently looking for a nurturing and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting primary school in Waterlooville, dedicated to helping children thrive both emotionally and academically.
Your Role as an SEMH Teaching Assistant Will Include:
- Providing tailored one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Assisting teachers in delivering a curriculum that is both therapeutic and engaging
- Encouraging emotional regulation and building trusted relationships with students
- Supporting the development of positive behaviour strategies
- Collaborating with therapists, support staff and families to ensure holistic care

- Is calm, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
- Understands the complexities of emotional and behavioural needs in young people
- Has a genuine commitment to inclusion and student wellbeing
- Is keen to learn and willing to receive specialist training (no prior experience necessary)
- Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team
