SEMH Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start
 Location: Waterlooville
Hourly Rate: £13.68 – £14.88

 Start Date: As soon as possible/ September 2025
Job Type: Full-time, Long-Term

GSL Education is currently looking for a nurturing and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting primary school in Waterlooville, dedicated to helping children thrive both emotionally and academically.


Your Role as an SEMH Teaching Assistant Will Include:

  • Providing tailored one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Assisting teachers in delivering a curriculum that is both therapeutic and engaging
  • Encouraging emotional regulation and building trusted relationships with students
  • Supporting the development of positive behaviour strategies
  • Collaborating with therapists, support staff and families to ensure holistic care

We’re Searching For Someone Who:

  • Is calm, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
  • Understands the complexities of emotional and behavioural needs in young people
  • Has a genuine commitment to inclusion and student wellbeing
  • Is keen to learn and willing to receive specialist training (no prior experience necessary)
  • Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team
