Job Title: Early Career Teacher (ECT)
Location: Rotherham
Salary: £150 - £230 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Part-time / Full-time
GSL Education are seeking a motivated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a dynamic school in Rotherham from September 2025. This role offers a wonderful chance for newly qualified teachers to develop their skills and gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive setting.
In this role as an Early Career Teacher, you will take responsibility for teaching your own class. You will help students learn by delivering lessons that are clear, interesting and suited to their needs. You will also receive support and guidance as you grow in your teaching career.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and delivering lessons that meet the curriculum requirements.
- Establishing a classroom atmosphere that encourages respect and focus.
- Assessing and tracking students’ development, providing clear and constructive feedback.
- Collaborating with colleagues and mentors to enhance your teaching abilities.
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers about student progress.
- Participating in all relevant training and professional development activities.
What we require from you:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
- Effective classroom management skills that promote positive behaviour.
- Clear communication and teamwork skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
- A full understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
