SEN Teacher – Inspiring Futures, Changing Lives
Location: Southsea

Salary scale: £31,650 to £49,084 annually

Start Date: ASAP/ September 2025

 

Are you a passionate and creative teacher ready to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with profound and complex needs?

A well-established Special School in Southsea, catering to aged 2–19 years are looking for a SEN Teacher. The school provides a highly personalised, specialist curriculum that meets the needs of pupils with profound, severe, and complex learning difficulties, many of whom have co-occurring conditions such as Autism Spectrum Condition, severe physical disabilities, and highly complex medical needs.

As a successful candidate, you will be expected to contribute to our strong track record of improving outcomes for all learners, support pupils to enjoy learning both in school and beyond, engage in meaningful consultation with families, and use resources efficiently and effectively to maximise the benefit for our young people.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and inspirational SEN Teacher to join our highly skilled and passionate team. You will play a vital role in preparing pupils for the next stage of their lives by focusing on:

What You’ll Bring:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) – primary-trained teachers are encouraged to apply
  • A passion for working with children with profound and complex needs
  • Experience or strong interest in teaching young people with Autism, severe physical and medical needs
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with pupils, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Creativity, resilience and a solution-focused approach
  • A belief in every child’s ability to achieve, however small the steps
