Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Peacehaven
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate / September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive SEN school in Peacehaven. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs while gaining valuable school-based experience in a long-term role.
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you’ll work alongside teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with needs such as autism, speech and language challenges, and social or emotional difficulties. Every day will be different, and your support will help pupils feel calm, safe, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils in class and during small group or 1:1 sessions
- Use visual prompts and consistent routines to aid understanding
- Encourage engagement, communication and independence
- Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
- Work closely with the wider team to meet each child’s individual needs
Job Requirements:
- Some experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- A calm, flexible and resilient approach
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and follow the school's routines and strategies
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willing to apply)
