Design Technology (DT) Teacher
Location: Medway, Kent
Salary: £120 - £250 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025 – Christmas 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

About the Role:

As a Teacher of Design Technology (DT), you will deliver engaging and practical Design Technology lessons that encourage students to explore their creativity and develop valuable technical skills. Whether you specialise in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or another DT strand, your input will be vital to a well-rounded curriculum. This role is open to both experienced teachers and passionate ECTs looking to gain further classroom experience.

Responsibilities of Design Technology Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons that are engaging, challenging, and in line with the national curriculum.
  • Foster creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through practical, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the development of the DT curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Engage positively with parents, carers, and staff to support student development.
  • Uphold school behaviour policies and ensure a productive learning atmosphere.

DT Teacher Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • A degree in Design Technology or a related subject area.
  • Experience teaching Design Technology in schools is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering inclusive and innovative DT education.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps).
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
