Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Southampton
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a caring and hard-working SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Southampton. This is your chance to be a real star in the classroom, helping students with Special Education Needs (SEN) learn and grow. You will support students to overcome challenges, build confidence, and enjoy their learning. It’s a rewarding job where your care can make a big difference every day.

What You’ll Do:

  • Join classroom activities and help create a calm space for learning.
  • Notice when a pupil needs a break, a smile, or a bit of encouragement.
  • Make tasks feel easier for children by keeping things simple and clear.
  • Help children stay on track with gentle reminders or by sitting nearby.
  • Be a kind and steady presence during the school day.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant with children is helpful.
  • A calm and patient way of working.
  • Good listening skills and a team spirit.
  • A positive attitude and a reliable nature.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to get one through GSL Education.
