Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Cosham
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a caring and helpful SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join a friendly school in Cosham. You will help students with different learning needs do their best. Your main job will be to work with teachers to give extra support, making sure students with SEN can join in all lessons and understand the work.

Your Key Tasks and Duties:

  • Join teachers to create fun lessons, adjusted for SEN students.
  • Help students learn, manage feelings, and build friendships.
  • Provide extra learning time for students, with a focus on SEN needs.
  • Build a welcoming classroom for every student.
  • Organise the classroom and encourage good behaviour.
  • Record student progress, especially for SEN students.
  • Carry out plans to help SEN students learn best.

Position Requirements:

  • A real passion for helping students learn and grow in a friendly and supportive school.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with teachers and students.
  • Able to adjust to different learning needs and classroom situations.
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially working with SEN students, is a plus.
  • A CV covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps, and an up-to-date enhanced DBS or willingness to get one.
