Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a kind and caring Special Education Needs (SEN) TA to work in schools in Portsmouth. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping children with special educational needs (SEN) and wants to make a real difference in their lives.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with different needs such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. You will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to help students feel safe, included, and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help children with their learning in class and during other school activities.
  • Support students with their emotional, social, and physical needs.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils who need extra help.
  • Follow plans made by the teacher and SEN team.
  • Create a safe, happy and positive classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (in school or other settings) is desirable.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, understanding and supportive attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions and school rules.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
