Salary Range: £90 - £130 per day (Depending on Experience)

About the Role / Role Overview

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in raising pupil achievement and enhancing classroom provision. You will support learning across a range of subjects and may be asked to deliver pre-planned lessons or small-group interventions, supporting the teaching staff in raising attainment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to teachers and pupils across various Key Stages.
  • Deliver planned lessons or group sessions in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support pupils’ academic and emotional development through tailored interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to implement differentiated learning plans.
  • Support classroom management and create a positive learning environment.
  • Contribute to pupil assessment, feedback, and progress reviews.
  • Uphold safeguarding practices and promote pupil well-being at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar advanced classroom support role.
  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor in a primary or secondary setting.
  • Confident in managing behaviour and delivering content across a range of subjects.
  • Excellent communication, adaptability, and time-management skills.
  • A calm, proactive, and patient manner, particularly when working with pupils with additional needs.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive educational practices.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
