Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Colchester
Salary Range: £85 - £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: September 2025 (or earlier if available)
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and empathetic SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in a welcoming school in Colchester. This full-time role is ideal for someone committed to supporting students with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges.
Role Overview
You will work closely with teaching staff and the school’s SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies, provide 1:1 or small group support, and help create an inclusive classroom environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist in delivering differentiated lesson content as directed by the class teacher.
- Help manage challenging behaviours with patience and consistency.
- Promote the social and emotional well-being of pupils.
- Support students in developing confidence, independence, and learning skills.
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, and other support staff.
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (in school or similar settings).
- A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine commitment to helping young people succeed.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare or SEN (desirable but not essential).
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
