Teaching Assistant
Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £13.68 – £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you’ll be a valued member of the classroom team—supporting learning, encouraging participation, and helping students thrive academically and personally.

Teaching Assistant (TA) Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students individually and in small groups.
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom routines.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Encourage good behaviour and participation in class activities.
  • Observe and report student progress to teaching staff.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to meet student needs.

Ideal Teaching Assistant Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school or care setting as a Teaching Assistant or similar.
  • CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is desirable.
  • Education, Psychology, or Child Development students/graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A nurturing, patient, and positive approach to supporting diverse learners.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
