SEN Teacher – SEMH Specialist School (Havant)
Salary Scale: £31,650 to £49,084 annually
Start Date: ASAP
A specialist SEMH school for boys aged 11 to 16 in Havant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join its highly motivated and dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a primary-trained teacher (year 6) looking to make a meaningful impact by supporting secondary-age students in a trauma-informed, therapeutic environment.

About the SEN Teacher Role:
- Teach a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to meet individual needs
- Support students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them to improve their life chances and promote positive citizenship.
- Deliver high-quality, structured teaching with excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies
- Prepare and review Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs) for each student, ensuring provision is personalised and targeted
- Adapt your approach for students with additional needs such as ADHD, ASC, and Dyslexia.
- Embed a trauma-informed and therapeutic approach in all aspects of teaching and learning
What we are looking for:
- A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) – primary-trained teachers are encouraged to apply
- Delivers engaging, structured lessons with strong classroom practice
- Supports students in closing learning gaps
- Uses a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach
- Calm, organised, and adaptable under pressure
- Works well in a team and values collaboration
- Flexible to teach across subjects or year groups when needed
