Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bexhill
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Part-time roles also available)

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Bexhill, East Sussex. You’ll be working across the classroom to support pupils with a variety of special educational needs including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.

About the Role:
As a general classroom-based SEN TA, you'll assist in creating an inclusive and positive environment for pupils with diverse needs. From supporting learning to managing behaviour, your role will be key in helping every child thrive.

Experience with Makaton or PECS is a bonus, but if you don’t have it – don’t worry, we still encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other additional needs
• Help deliver structured classroom activities and targeted interventions
• Use visual supports and adapted resources to aid communication and understanding
• Promote positive behaviour and social interaction
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track and support pupil progress
• Maintain a calm, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere

Job Requirements:
• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
• Familiarity with Makaton, PECS, or alternative communication strategies is desirable
• A patient, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
• Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
