Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Secondary School in Totton, Hampshire!

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a friendly and inclusive secondary school in Totton, Hampshire. This rewarding role offers a competitive annual salary between £22,500 to £23,500 (depending on experience) and is available to start ASAP or from September 2025, depending on the successful candidate’s availability.

Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant (LSA):

  • Collaborate closely with class teachers to support students in their day-to-day learning.
  • Lead small group interventions and provide one-to-one academic support.
  • Assist students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring their individual needs are met with care and consistency.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment across the school.
  • Support students’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing with patience and resilience.
  • Take part in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as an active member of the school community.

Requirements of the Learning Support Assistant (LSA):

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational or related setting (e.g., youth work, social work, pastoral care).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A resilient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
