Salary: £95 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Pastoral Officer to join a supportive and inclusive school in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and be part of a committed pastoral team.
As a Pastoral Officer (PO), you will play a vital role in promoting student well-being, supporting behaviour management, and helping to create a safe and nurturing school environment. This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, resilient, and experienced in working with students with SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities of Pastoral Officer (PO):
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Supporting the implementation of behaviour and attendance strategies.
- Building positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Monitoring student well-being and reporting concerns to the safeguarding team.
- Assisting with the development of personalised support plans.
- Promoting a positive school culture and inclusive environment.
- Liaising with external agencies and professionals where necessary.
Requirements of Pastoral Officer (PO):
- Previous experience working with SEMH students is essential.
- Must be a driver with access to a vehicle.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-focused under pressure.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- A positive, flexible attitude and a team-oriented approach.
- An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
