SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bexhill
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

If so, GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support schools in Bexhill. About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students requiring extra academic, emotional or behavioural support. This could include one-to-one intervention, classroom-based support, or assisting small groups. You will help create a stable and encouraging setting where every child feels safe and supported.

Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Support the educational and emotional development of pupils with SEN.
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver personalised learning strategies.
  • Encourage social and emotional development through structured routines.
  • Promote inclusion and participation in classroom activities.
  • Monitor student progress and report to the SENCo or class teacher.
  • Help manage challenging behaviours positively and professionally.
  • Assist with care and sensory needs where appropriate.

SEN TA Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN children or young people as a SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable.
  • CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Childcare, Teaching Assistance or relevant degree (e.g., Education, Psychology) is advantageous.
  • Empathetic, resilient, and adaptable to the needs of each learner.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
