SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hailsham
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a caring and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Hailsham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students in reaching their full potential, whether you're looking for immediate work or a role starting in September 2025.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work one-to-one or in small groups, supporting students with a range of learning difficulties or social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will play a vital role in helping them engage in learning and develop confidence in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities of a SEN TA:

  • Provide tailored classroom support to students with SEN.
  • Assist in delivering differentiated lessons under teacher guidance.
  • Foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support with managing behaviour positively and consistently.
  • Help students access the curriculum through personalised strategies.
  • Monitor progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents.
  • Assist with personal care and sensory needs where required.

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school or care settings) as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA).
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning,
  • A degree in Education or Psychology are desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting individual needs.
  • Ability to work well in a team and take initiative when supporting pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
