GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and nurturing school in Winchester.

We provide a safe and inclusive environment where every child is accepted, valued, and supported. We cater to children aged 4–11 with a wide range of complex learning needs, including multiple learning difficulties, language and communication difficulties and emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The school offers a holistic approach to education, with access to a range of therapeutic services including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy, Art Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.

Responsibilities for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans.
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with children to meet their individual needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and safe environment where all children can thrive.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals to ensure well-rounded support.

  • A compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic individual.
  • Experience working with children with SEND (desirable but not essential).
  • A strong commitment to inclusion and child-centred learning.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should: 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
