GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Eastleigh, helping to transform the lives of pupils who are struggling to access mainstream education. The school focuses on emotionally vulnerable young people, many of whom face challenges such as SEMH, communication and interaction difficulties, and issues related to cognition and learning.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will teach in small class groups, ensuring they receive the focused support they need in a nurturing environment. All teaching and support staff receive ongoing SEND training to enhance their understanding and practice.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students both academically and emotionally
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored interventions
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Build trusting relationships with students, helping them to feel safe and understood

What We’re Looking For

  • Confidence in working with children with a range of complex needs
  • A compassionate and resilient attitude
  • Experience in a school or SEN setting is desirable but not essential – we provide training!

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should: 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
